| : | This position assists the IT Consultant in providing computer helpdesk support to staff and faculty in the College of Science. Duties: Assist in creation of computer documentation and user help sheets; diagnose and resolve issues with personal computer hardware, software, and peripherals; phone and desk-side support to staff and faculty; install and configure Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems and applications. Work may include routine inventory, data entry, and documentation of network configuration, PCs, and parts. Candidate must be familiar with PCs and Windows and have good communication skills, be a self-starter, and be able work independently with minimal supervision. Desired qualifications include experience building, configuring, and solving PC hardware and software problems (user support, virus attacks, spyware, re-imaging PCs, and configuring campus network and e-mail settings). Mac and Linux knowledge is a plus. Candidates must be able to lift 20-50 pounds (move and install PCs and monitors). Salary ranges from $10 - $14 per hour depending on experience (1 position available) |
